Aren't they just a bunch of skate pros, magazine editors and such? Or do they actually have experience in building concrete parks?

cos i see on the early designs you know how to use the 2d shape editor and other things.

Yup. We still have an office match of the original UT every friday afternoon. I Only ever played on LAN though, not online.
I did a few maps for myself, but never really finished any of them, you know how it is. I also used it to design my kitchen, worked really well. There's some property company that uses it to do virtual tours of new houses IIRC.
